For myself, assuming the counter reset function works I plan to use it to get
just another one or two pictures per ink tank. I dont want to run the tanks
too dry as the print heads can be damaged this way but with the cost of ink
even a single additional page per tank will add up over time.

This application is for Epson printers and amongst other things claims to be
able to reset the ink levels on the chipped ink tanks. Whilst I have the utility
installed and have used it to monitor ink levels in the individual colour tanks
and run cleaning cycles I have not yet tested its ability to reset the chips.
I will report on this aspect of its operation when I have used this facility.
The developers of this software run a user forum and from what I have seen it
gets good reports. It works on a wide range of Epson printers (I am using a
1290s) and best of all its FREE:-)
The interface is confusing, start the application and set it to the model of
printer you are using, click <refresh> to get a reading on the ink levels.
Close the application by clicking the <X> in the top right. This however
does not close the App it mearly swaps it down to the tool bar bottom right
of the screen. Right clicking on this will bring up the options to run cleaning
cycles, run nozzle checks and reset the counters, both the chip and waste pad
counters.
